For people who like outdoor fun, Mt Mulanje is the best destination for one to spend time with family and friends. It could also be ideal for companies and organisations to organise team building exercises for employees away from the hussles of town.

Visitors arriving in Malawi by air will first land at Lilongwe International Airport in the Capital City or Chileka International Airport in Blantyre. There are also internal flights between the two airports. Additionally, there are Coachline and Express bus services from Lilongwe to central Blantyre. In Blantyre, there are several Car Hire Agencies, which can supply a suitable vehicle for the trip to Mulanje. 

Lying in the South Eastern corner of Malawi, Mulanje is readily accessible from Blantyre/Limbe through the MI, tarmac road, which passes through the tea estates in Thyolo to Mulanje town and then along the southern slopes of Mulanje to Muloza, on the Mozambique boarder. Between Blantyre/Limbe and Mulanje town the new M7, Robert Mugabe Highway, provides more direct access and is 16km shorter, and despite missing the tea fields, one gets to Mulanje much faster.

Equally, those travelling from Lake Malawi, through Zomba road can easily drive to Phalombe and Mulanje through a tarmac Zomba – Jali – Chitakale road.

Alternatively, one may make use of the express and local buses, which operate between Blantyre and Mulanje town. Minibuses are also available. Local buses and other transport vehicles do operate between Mulanje town and Phalombe.
